Ryan O'Keefe / 1:1 Coaching

You can feel the weight.
You can't feel the muscle.

You've been at this for years. You know the terms. You've run the programs. Something's still off. Adding more hasn't fixed it. That's not a consistency problem.

About Ryan

Started at 350 pounds.

Two bad discs. Down 160. Still training hard.

Got to 220 cutting junk and eating real food. Hit a wall and had to actually learn what a calorie was. Then what protein does. Then why none of that explained why my chest wasn't growing after two years of bench pressing.

That question took me from Rippetoe to bodybuilding to biomechanics. Years learning what actually happens when a muscle contracts under load and why some people never feel it.

Two herniated discs. L4-L5 and L5-S1. Doctors said stop. I kept going. Not because I was tough. Because I understood my structure well enough to train around it.

Synaptic Strength is what I wish I'd found at 350 when I was guessing at everything. If I can shorten that path for someone else, that's the whole point.

The Real Problem

Two ways training stalls.
Both look like hard work.

Most people are one of these. Some are both in the same session.

Type 01

The Executor

Consistent. Does the program. Hits the numbers. Adds weight when the app says to. But never asks why. When progress stops the answer is always more. More sets. More volume. More of the thing that already stopped working.

Not lazy. Executing in the wrong direction.
Type 02

The Researcher

Reads everything. Watches every breakdown. Knows every reason something might not work. Never trains at a real intensity because there's always one more thing to fix first.

All input, no output. That doesn't build muscle either.

What works is the ability to move between them. Slow down to build an accurate model. Then trust it and train hard. The skill is knowing when to shift.

That's most of what coaching actually teaches. Not just what to do. How to think about what you're doing, so the next program doesn't start from scratch.

1:1 Coaching

One offer.
Built around your data.

I run private 1:1 coaching. That's it.

Not because I can't fill a group. Because a group program can't adapt to your structure, your history, and what your body is actually doing right now. A template can't assess you. It guesses.

Private coaching starts with an assessment. I find the specific reason your training has stalled and build the program around how your body actually works. Every decision comes from that data. You understand what you're doing and why from the first session.

If I look at your application and we're not a good fit, I'll tell you. No pitch. I'd rather you find someone who can actually help.

How It Works

From application to actual progress.

Four steps. No guesswork baked in.

01 / Apply Apply

Fill out the form honestly. Tell me where you're at, what you've tried, and what you're actually trying to build. I'll review it and reach out if there's a clear fit.

02 / Assess Assess

Before programming starts, I look at your structure and movement. The program gets built around what's actually there, not what a template assumes.

03 / Program Program

You get a fully customized program with the reasoning behind every choice. You'll know what you're training and why from the first session.

04 / Progress Progress

Weekly check-ins. Real feedback. Adjustments as you adapt. The goal isn't just results right now. It's that you can eventually train without me.

Apply

Ready to actually figure this out?

This isn't a sales process. I read every application.

Fill it out honestly. Tell me where you're at, what you've tried, what's been frustrating. The more context, the better I can tell whether I can actually help. If we're not a fit, I'll say so directly. No follow-up pitch.

Not ready to apply? Ask a question or just get on my radar. No commitment required.
